Puspita Lisdiyanti is a microbiologist whose research interests focus on exploring the microbial diversity in Indonesia and elucidating the potential uses of these microbes. In addition, she has obsession to built internationally standardized microbial resource center in Indonesia. Since 2004, she has been the Principal Investigator for the Industrial Microorganisms Laboratory; and since 2006, she has been the Head of Division of Cell Biology and Tissue Culture of the Research Center for Biotechnology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). Her team uses the microbes to elucidate problems in food, feed, health (discovery of enzymes or new compounds), and environments (bioremediation of oil pollutants). This research is being used by company to screen new compounds and producing food from microbes.
